  • Bill sent me this, and I have to say I think it has to be true!

    SANTA IS A WOMAN!!!!

I hate to be the one to defy sacred myth, but I believe Santa’s a she.

Think about it. Christmas is a big, organized, warm, fuzzy, nurturing, social deal, and I have a tough time believing a guy could possibly pull it all off!

For starters, the vast majority of men don’t even think about selecting gifts until Christmas Eve. Once at the mall, they always seem surprised to find only Ronco products, socket wrench sets, and mood rings left on the shelves. On this count alone, I’m convinced Santa is a woman.

Surely, if he were a man, everyone in the universe would wake up Christmas morning to find a rotating musical Chia Pet under the tree, still in the bag.

Another problem for a he-Santa would be getting there. First of all, there would be no reindeer because they would all be dead, gutted, and strapped on to the rear bumper of the sleigh amid wide-eyed, desperate claims that buck season had been extended. Blitzen’s rack would already be on the way to the taxidermist.

Even if the male Santa DID have reindeer, he’d still have transportation problems because he would inevitably get lost up there in the snow and clouds and then refuse to stop and ask for directions.

Other reasons why Santa can’t possibly be a man:
    * Men can’t pack a bag.
    * Men would rather be dead than caught wearing red velvet.
    * Men would feel their masculinity is threatened having to be seen with all those elves.
    * Men don’t answer their mail.
    * Men would refuse to allow their physique to be described, even in jest, as anything remotely resembling a “bowlful of jelly.”
    * Men aren’t interested in stockings unless somebody’s wearing them.
    * Having to do the Ho Ho Ho thing would seriously inhibit their ability to pick up women.
    * Finally, being responsible for Christmas would require a commitment.

I can buy the fact that other mythical holiday characters are men:
    * Father Time shows up once a year unshaven and looking ominous. Definite guy.
    * Cupid flies around exposing himself and carrying weapons.
    * Uncle Sam is a politician who likes to point fingers.

Any one of these individuals could pass the testosterone screening test. But not Santa – not a chance.

Thanks to all who stopped by at the party. I’m sorry I could not be here, but it looks like GlowWorm and AbbyNormal did their best to entertain and make everyone feel at home.

  • Aww girl I am so sorry I did not make it here.  Something happened with the schedule and I got so confused I made one party besides my own for the day.  Plus working on all my stuff for my party.I am glad things worked out in your party.  Have a great day and a wonderful tomorrow! ! !   Much love and hugs! ! ! !

  • That Santa thing really sounds right on the button.  Quizes…I knew hardly any answers except the classical section.  That tells me I’m one-sided in my music appreciation.,  But being a music teacher, that’s where most of my education went.  I’m going to try listening to Country Western as I drive into town.  i need to broden my horizons.

  • HA! i still believe santa is a man because santa doesn’t REALLY exist, not in the manifest physical embodiment of a person sense. he’s an IDEAL which we express every time we exchange gifts out of love (and not obligation, as corporate america would have us believe). in all actuality, santa doesn’t have a corpereal existence, but an avatar which we look to (much like the hindis with their plethora of gods, much like the ancient greeks with their pantheon). santa is an ideal, is androgynous, but is an IDEAL nevertheless. an ideal man perhaps? one who defies all the typical stereotypes of a man? i challange you to reconsider :D

besides, if santa was a woman, that means the REAL power behind the suit would have to be a MR. claus….a MAN :D

  • I am sorry I did not participate in the quizzes. I was getting abit quizzed out.

Your cutest baby graphic is ready to be picked up! You really were a winner weren’t you?

  • Okay – also have the “Most likely to cause grey hairs” graphic up on the site. They were all done thank to the lovely Pepsiluver! She rocks!!!

You don’t have to post them all – do what you want. They are yours for the choosing!

  •   I agree with Abby–I was getting quizzed out, and I was at work, so I couldn’t take the time to do everything…

Thanks for such a great party, though!

  • Oh, and I agree… Santa is probably a Woman… because a lot of what you say there is true… but there are some guys out there that aren’t that way!

  • BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! on the joke!!!   At least we know Santa’s not a blonde.

  • I agree, Santa is definitely a woman!

  • LOL at Santa being a woman!   It’s all true..hehe!

    ~Maria

  • Oh Santa MUSt be a woman!!! LOL Cute story!

Thanks for coming and making yesterday fun for us all.

  • LOL re Santa is a woman .  I’ve heard that Christmas Eve is the night of the year that has the most men in the mall.

  • Well, obviously I don’t know Rock and Roll!  And I’m embarrassed about missing the Brahms question…I answered Schubert, but I know darned well that Schubert composed 9 symphonies.  I just never think of Brahms as a titan of song…chamber music, yes, but not song.

  • Hey nancy… I got the cards up and on display this weekend. Hope you get a chance to check it out. *wink*   Happy weekend
