Serenity
What is serenity?
How does it come?
Is it a dream?
How does it feel?I see it in the eyes
Of those I really love.
I hear it in the call
Of a friendly voice.I feel it in the fur
Of my sweetly purring cat.
Or in the quiet shelter
Of my peaceful home.It comes to me in music
Or in pages from a book
But if I want to find it
Where am I to look? The answer to that question
Is a very simple thing
I have to look inside myself
For that is where it starts. In the midst of chaos
I’ll find it growing there
A strong and glowing ember
Right inside my heart! No matter how far I search
No matter what I try
The only place it will ever be
Is right inside of me!

Congrats on the premium xanga for life thing!!
Great poem. Some of us go searching all over the place trying to ‘find’ serenity. It is inside of us, if we discern it.
nice poem

Nance1, Nice poem! Did you write it? Thanks for stopping by the other day. Sorry I wasn’t home.
Xanga premium for life would be pretty cool.
Like the poem.
It is so very hard to be serene in the world of education today. I liked your poem very much.
Very cool poem.
You know, I went and solved that puzzle and everything and then it said the sweeps had ended. Dirty rat bastards! Good luck and hope you win!
If I solve the puzzle, do I get my hundred bucks back?
What about you Nancy ?

Michel
Thank you Nancy to reassure me .

Miss you Nance.
I see you haven’t posted in a while either – I hope you are doing okay.
Take care.
A lovely poem, I am tempted to give the scientific version of the word, but it’ll spoil the great charm of your piece.
